What Our Relationships Tell Us About Where We Are On Our Path
Many of you have been expressing that you feel “stuck” with a particular relationship. You are deliberating about making a big decision about whether to stay or go. You feel vibrationally “off,” and you are thinking it’s the person you are staying with. Here is a video about what our relationships tell us about where we are on our path:
Usually, if you are feeling wonky, confused, depleted or frustrated, it’s not so much a sign that you are in the wrong relationship; it’s simply revealing that your own connection to your true self might be waning. Our relationships are an outer reflection of our inner world. When they are in turmoil, they show us in a very simple way that we have fallen off track with our own life path or purpose. And it’s easy to point a finger either at the other person or to blame yourself for things going awry.
Judgement aside, you can be rest assured that the relationship you are currently in is the EXACT one you are supposed to be in. Take Allison for example… Allison is 38 and she has been working since she was 16 years old. She is unhappily married, has two kids and works a corporate job. Allison and her husband argue daily about everything from how to raise their kids to what kinds of social activities to attend. Their values are not aligned in any way (for more on the importance of knowing your values, go here). Allison is free spirited and liberal and her husband is more traditional and conservative. They have been married over 10 years and both feel very unhappy in their relationship. They wonder if this is salvageable or if they should get a divorce…
The reason Allison and her husband are unhappy is not because one of them is not trying hard enough. The reason they feel stuck and frustrated is because neither of them are tuning in to their true self and aligning with their highest values. Allison has a free spirit and yet she works a corporate job and fights traffic for hours. She is trapped in a life that feels monotonous and black and white when her free spirit craves adventure, travel and color. Because she chooses to ignore her highest values, symptoms of frustration and dissatisfaction begin to emerge.
Is there hope for Allison and her husband? Can they be happy? Of course… but only if each align with their highest values. This is where tuning in to energy helps! It can act as a guide and messenger to show you the way more clearly.
